Y2J Returns!
Tron is a happy man now . . .
After several false starts over the past few weeks, WWE finally deigned to give the fans what the wanted this evening: the return of Chris Jericho. Sorely needed it was, too. After approximately two hours of barely watchable television, which featured the likes of Hardcore Holley vs. Cody Rhodes and Jeff Hardy vs. Umaga, Jericho not only made his re-debut

in the last ten minutes but in a move reminiscent of his initial WWE debut interrupted Randy Orton, current WWE champion, denigrating his "Supercuts" hairstyle and "bland personality" and promising "100% entertainment, 100% electricity, 100% Jericho." His appearance made an immediate impact as well; the crowd, lulled into a bored resignation by the previous headline event of Carlito vs Hornswaggle (don't ask - tough love) exploded in a standing ovation which lasted minutes, providing the ends of his taglines and chanting "Y2J." This supports my theory that all Jericho has to do is appear and it's excitement, which is all tonight's all-to-brief segment amounted to but it achieves it's desired effect which is to make us interested in what happens next week. Will Jericho wrestle Orton at the next pay per view? Will he appear on Smackdown? Is he gonna wrestle before the next PPV? TNA, in my opinion, has provided more weekly entertainment in the last few months with less talent and less competent writers than the WWE has with all it's advantages but the WWE now has Jericho, a man entertaining inside and outside the ring. It goes a long way for them, provided they give us good storylines with Kennedy, Edge, Orton, Michaels, HHH and really does save them from their usual brand of mediocre television. Jericho is definitely the savior of the WWE but if he inspires TNA and forces them to work harder he may indeed save wrestling.
