Skindred
Can you mix metal/reggae with synths and drum loops and still be cool and original? Yes.
The problem with most most bands that try to mix styles is that they usually aren't very good at any particular style. Not the case with Skindred. The riffs are actually good (think Korn or Pantera), and they're cooler than just adding a guitar skank and calling it reggae. With this they're still able to mix in, dare I say it, almost danceable grooves that still makes you want to form a pit.Coming come out of Wales, they showed up on the underground American metal scene for half a second and had a couple of plays on FUSE, but didn't get nearly the attention they deserve.
