Torche: Meanderthal
LowBrow talks about the second album from stoner metal outfit Torche.
Torche rocks with heart as big as their sound. Heavy concussive rhythms with guitar and bass slam relentlessly as drums inject a solid driving beat down. Some songs hit with short bursts of energy and are over in two minutes, others ignite as fuel and fire up a mean machine slotting piston precision thrusts to plod through the sonic structure. The drummer pounds time and space while the electric assault keeping the momentum moving full on. Tones of guitar develop warm harmonies as runs soar on noise through amplified vibrations of metal and steel. A solid expression of sound rears up throughout the songwriting as a solid slab of Rock and Roll verges on the edge of mass success.
