Intra Meridian
Up and coming alternative band from Ontario
Their website is a little off-putting, maybe a bit self-important (and where do I get the nerve criticizing someone for that?). The tunes might be a little over produced. But Intra Meridian have a solid core sound. It's melodic-alternative - the music has some crunch, the band has a little attitude, it's good. The album, "Get This Out", was mostly good. Some of the tracks I really liked, some seemed like the band was trying too hard for a record deal, and the songs sounded a little too commercial. At their most commercial, it sounds like they borrowed a little from Evanascence, Truth be told, this band has some growing to do, but I think they are off to a good start.
I included a video, but I wasn't sure if I should. This is one of my least favorite songs on the album, but the video is very well done. You can do a little looking and find a short clip that provides some back story to the video, if you fail to grasp the plot line without it . . . but you'd be better served finding some other tracks and listening to them. The music gets much better.
